Andrea Gerino
Research Activity
Andrea’s research activity covers the area of data management with particular focus on the development and evaluation of assistive technologies. He is currently involved in the creation of virtual experiences to evaluate spatial hearing and auditory prostheses, and in the development of interactive sonic narratives for virtual heritage.

Research Activity
Anna’s research interests are related to IoT, privacy, large-scale Internet measurements, Internet measurement platforms, middleboxes and new Internet protocols.

Weilong Ai
Research Activity
Weilong's research is focused on developing models for lithium-ion batteries. He currently works on modelling the capacity degradation of lithium-ion battery cells and packs at fast charging scenarios.

Jingyi Chen
Research Activity
Jingyi has a keen interest in electrochemical devices, especially on solid oxide fuel cells and lithium ion batteries. Her current research focuses on tracking the degradation of lithium ion batteries and cell-derating solutions to optimise life-time and performance for electrical vehicle applications.

Florence Ching Ying Leong
Research Activity
Florence's research interests are in the area of medical and surgical robotics. Her current research involves the modelling of abdominal tissues and the interaction with fingers during medical palpation.

Dorian Peters
Research activity
Dorian’s research is on wellbeing-supportive design, including the support of psychological needs through design. Her focus is on integrating wellbeing psychology into design practice to improve digital experience. She also works on technology ethics.

Jacob Tan
Affiliations
Yongxuan is currently a Research Assistant with the Dyson School of Design Engineering, Imperial College London, and a member of Morph Lab, Imperial College London. He is actively involved in the development of a robotic face for simulating patients of different demographic backgrounds and mechanical and virtual facial expression rendering methods.

Johan Pauwels
Affiliations
I am a Research Fellow on the SONICOM project, where I am looking at modelling individual user’s characteristics and behaviour with machine learning to enhance immersive audio. In the past, I contributed to multiple national and international research projects on music information retrieval in Belgium, France and the UK. I also taught subjects ranging from audio programming to big data processing at various London universities.

Kate Simpson
Research
Currently exploring data use in building retrofit decision-making, as a visiting researcher to The Alan Turing Institute under their Data Centric Engineering Programme, through the Data-Driven Design under Uncertainty Grand Challenge, funded by the Lloyds Register Foundation.

Kevin Sum
Research Activity
Kevin is currently working with the Audio Experience Design research group on the BEARs (Both Ears) project – A set of VR/AR training games aimed at improving auditory abilities of children and teenagers with bi-cochlear implants. The games aim to improve everyday spatial localisation ability, speech-in-noise recognition, and musical abilities. Kevin has research interests in audiology, assistive hearing devices, spatial audio, augmented/virtual reality, and audio engineering in general.

Siamak Khosroshahi
Research activity
Siamak has been working on biomechanical mechanisms of brain injuries to design better protective devices. He mainly uses computer simulations to predict the response of the brain in different impact scenarios and compare different protective systems. His current research focuses on the biomechanics of brain vascular injuries

Dr Teddy Szemberg O'Connor
Research Activity
Teddy's interests lie in the development of energy storage systems to enable the wider use of renewable energy sources. He currently works on increasing the performance of high power lithium-ion batteries through improved thermal management.

Thilina Lalitharatne
Research
Thilina's research interests are in the area of medical robotics, assistive robotics and Brain Computer Interface (BCI). His current research focuses on haptic interaction with a soft robotic patient and developing a modular robotic face to present pain expressions proportional to palpation forces.

Tim Murray Browne
Research activity
Tim is an artist and researcher investigating interactive experiences within art and music. His research explores how we find meaning and value within interactive installations, and how our sense of agency influences our self-representation.

Yuchen Zhao
Research
Yuchen's research revolves around issues between humans and their data, such as how to help people manage the access to their data, how to evaluate their experience in their interaction with data, and how to use metrics to quantify data privacy. Currently his research focuses on privacy-preserving data analytics using edge computing.
