Huxley Level 2 - Computer Labs

Given the particular conditions under Covid-19, a seat booking system has been introduced to control the use of space in the computer labs on Huxley level 2. The system is run by Office Space, and covers the following rooms:

  • HXLY 219 - the main lab area
  • HXLY 202/206 - the 'back' labs, accessed through 219
  • HXLY 210 - the 'Quiet' lab, next to 206 and 219
  • HXLY 221 - with a mixture of fixed PCs and empty desks for bring-your-own-device
  • HXLY 225 - the small lab, at the end of the corridor

When lab spaces are needed for teaching, eg for Year 1 lab, Year 2 lab or lab-heavy modules, such as 60019 Robotics, the seats will be pre-booked for students taking the module. To see when the lab is likely to be busy, consult Huxley Labs Spring usage (pdf)

At other times, students can use the Office Space booking form to reserve a seat. Most of the time, seats are available by self-service, where there is no need for approval and the booking is confirmed immediately. In some cases, seats are placed on a booking by request basis, which will require approval from an administrator.
